How the Pomodoro Timer Transforms Your Work
In today's world of endless notifications and infinite scrolling, maintaining focus is a superpower. The Pomodoro Timer doesn't just track time; it creates a psychological boundary that helps you commit to a single task.
The Rules of Pomodoro
- No Interruptions: If you are interrupted during a 25-minute session, either the interruption must be postponed, or the Pomodoro is abandoned and must be restarted.
- Respect the Break: When the timer rings, stop working immediately. The break is essential for your brain to consolidate information.
- Batch Small Tasks: If a task takes less than 5 minutes, group it with other small tasks to fill a single 25-minute Pomodoro.
How to Use This Tool
1
Pick a Task
Decide on one specific task you want to focus on. Don't multi-task.
2
Start Timer
Click Start on the Focus mode (25 minutes). Work strictly on that task until the timer rings.
3
Take a Break
When the timer rings, switch to Short Break (5 minutes). Step away from your screen, stretch, or grab water.
4
Repeat
After 4 Pomodoros (focus sessions), take a Long Break (15 minutes) to recharge.
